DECEMBER 19, 2017

The students did an excellent job in the Christmas Program last week.  I was blessed to see their enthusiasm for singing songs that honor Jesus.  Have a very blessed Christmas.

NOVEMBER 16, 2017

As students are practicing Christmas songs for our program, I am excited to see that they are not only learning words to the songs, but they are understanding more of who Jesus is and why He came to earth.  I pray that the message will be clear to all those who come to the program.

OCTOBER 24, 2017

Our students have begun practicing for our Christmas Program, which will be presented on Tuesday, December 12, beginning at 6:00 PM.  All of the Kindergarten through 8th Grade students will be involved in this program.  Also, our 2nd-5th Grade Honor Choir and our Middle School Choir will be performing.  We look forward to celebrating together the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.

SEPTEMBER 25, 2017

In our music classes, we want to introduce the students to a variety of musical instruments.  If any of you parents have instruments (besides keyboard, guitar, or drums) that you would be willing to bring for a day or two for the students to see and hear, this would benefit the students.  Please contact me, Carol Schmidt, at school if you can help in this.

We are looking forward to an exciting and fruitful school year as the students will be learning many new musical skills and will be improving in skills that they have already begun.  We are blessed to have the opportunity of helping to guide and encourage these students.

HAPPY SUMMER!  We hope that all of our Morning Star Musicians are planning a rewarding vacation time.  Here are some suggestions to keep up your music education while having fun!

  • Take advantage of the various free concerts, such as the Les Schwab Amphitheater Sunday concerts.
  • Practice making up songs on a keyboard, guitar, or other instruments.
  • Find tutorials online about how to read music, read chord charts, or play your favorite songs.
  • Sing at church, with your youth group, or at Vacation Bible School.
  • Listen to Christian radio and think about possible song choices for chapel next year.
  • Play and/or sing songs you have learned for family and friends.

SPRING CONCERT!  Our spring concert, “Amazing Grace: A Little History of Church Music,” is next Thursday, May 11, at 6:00 pm.  Please come to see and hear the students perform and to be inspired by the message of hope.

CHAPEL GUESTS!   You are invited to our chapel tomorrow morning, Wednesday, March 8, at 8:00 AM.  CTI, Carpenter’s Tools International, a college-age worship arts touring group will be ministering with inspirational music and drama.

AMAZING GRACE!  The theme of our May 11th Spring Concert echoes throughout our music classes.  From “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God” to “My Chains Are Gone”, we are exploring history through song, proclaiming the freedom we have because of God’s amazing grace.  You won’t want to miss this inspiring concert of hope!
