Hello! I joined the Morning Star Christian School staff in February of 2015. I would like to share a little bit about who I am and my previous teaching experience.
I am a twelve year resident of Bend. I arrived here from California where I lived all of my life. I grew up in Southern and Central CA. As a youngster, I was involved in sports – softball, volleyball, basketball, and tennis. Of course, P.E. was always my favorite class!
By the time I was in high school, I had spent most of my time learning the game of tennis. I enjoyed playing varsity tennis all four years. I still play now, and also teach summer adult clinics for Bend Parks and Recreation.
I graduated from Point Loma College – A.K.A. Point Loma Nazarene University – with a bachelor’s degree and a teaching credential.
My first teaching position was at a small Christian school in Southern CA. In all, I have taught at three different Christian schools before coming to Morning Star.
The freedom we have at MSCS to point our students to Jesus is so valuable! Young people need daily reminders of His love and forgiveness. It’s my prayer that my life is a personal example to my students too.
As the MSCS Physical Education instructor, my goal is to teach age appropriate skills through fun, yet challenging activities.
Along with improved physical skills, students learn sportsmanship. They learn how to interact positively with one another while playing and how to listen and follow instruction from the teacher.
